Creating your account and first project
Last updated on July 14, 2026
Getting started with Tag Insight takes just a few minutes. This guide walks you through signing up, verifying your email, and completing the onboarding steps that create your workspace and your first project.
How your account is organised
Tag Insight uses a simple two-level structure: a Workspace represents your organisation, and it contains one or more Projects. A project is where your day-to-day work happens: tracking plans, audits, and debugging for a single site or app.
You do not need to build any of this by hand. A workspace and a first project are created automatically once you finish signup and payment. Each plan covers one project; if you need several projects, contact us about Enterprise or reseller options.

Create your account with your work email address and a password. You are then taken straight into the onboarding flow.
Complete the onboarding steps
Onboarding is a short guided sequence. Here is what each step does:
- 1
Create workspace: name your workspace. Most teams use their company or organisation name, since every project you add later lives inside it.
- 2
Source: answer a quick question that helps us tailor your setup.
- 3
Role: tell us how you will use Tag Insight. Later on, you can invite colleagues and manage their access (admin, organisation, or consultant) from Workspace settings, under Team management.
- 4
Subscription: choose your plan and pay securely through Stripe. Plans are based on monthly hit volume (10k, 100k, or 1M hits), and every plan includes one project with unlimited audits.
As soon as payment is confirmed, your workspace and first project are created for you.
Landing in your first project
After onboarding you arrive directly in your new project. The sidebar gives you access to everything: Dashboard for an overview, Tracking plan for your documentation and audits, Audit my adtech for checking your marketing pixels, Live Debugger for inspecting hits captured during an audit run, and Google Tag Manager tools if you use a TMS.
Project settings covers this project's configuration, while Workspace settings is where you manage the organisation-level side: Configuration, Team management, and the shared Library.
Next step: install Tag Insight
The final onboarding step is Install Tag Insight. This adds a small snippet to your site, placed just before the closing </head> tag, so Tag Insight can start collecting data. You can complete it right away or come back to it anytime from the Install Tag Insight entry in the sidebar. Once the snippet is live, you are ready to detect your first tracking plan and run your first audit.
